Location:
All sessions will take place at the turf field at Heart Lake Secondary School in Brampton. The address is:
Heart Lake Secondary School, 296 Conestoga Drive, Brampton, L6Z 3M1.
Click on the link above to show the location in google maps.
The field is located directly behind the school and can be seen from the car park.
What to Bring:
- Shorts/track pants
- Jacket/sweatshirt for cooler days
- Socks
- Athletics Shoes
- Shin guards (recommended)
- Water bottle
- Sunscreen
The program shirt will be handed out at the SECOND session. Please ensure to arrive at least to 15 - 30 mins early on week 2 so we can get everyone their jersey prior to the start of the session.
Unfortunately we have been informed of a shipping delay, so the jerseys may not be ready in time for the first session.
Specific turf soccer shoes, indoor or cleats are great but are not necessary if they do not already have them. Any form of running, tennis or athletic shoes will be absolutely fine.
What will they do at each session?
Our coaches will be working on skill development and developing technique for part of the session followed by mini-games to practice their new skills. However, our main focus is that the boys and girls in the program have fun and enjoy their soccer, not to provide a competitive team environment.
Frequently Asked Questions for parents
We have designed the programs to be fun and fulfilling for the kids, but also to be as parent-friendly as possible with a simple sign-up process, same time and location every week and not too big a time or financial commitment for parents. You can find the answers to some of the more common questions below, but please contact us at admin@footyforall.ca if there is anything else we can help you with.
Is it indoors or outdoor? All sessions are outdoors.
Is there parking? Yes, there is plenty of free parking at the school.
Can I get there by public transport? The number 21 bus stops directly outside the school, but does not run at the weekend. The number 5 or 7 buses are much more regular and stop about 10 minutes walk from the school.
Do I have to stay with the kids? It's entirely up to you. You can drop them off and come back to pick them up at the end of the session, stay and watch (there is seating to watch from) or even volunteer to get involved with coaching and make it an even better experience. It's up to you. For the younger kids, we would recommend that parents stay if possible, as the comfort of knowing that mum or dad is nearby can help newer players relax and concentrate on playing.
Are there tryouts? No everyone can join and all kids are welcome. We want them to enjoy the experience and get the chance to participate throughout, whether they are experienced players or not.
Will we have to travel to other locations? No, it will always be at the same place.
Are there washroom facilities on site? There are portable toilets on site
We hope we have answered most of the questions that you may have, if you have any other questions please e-mail us at admin@footyforall.ca
Yours,
Michael, Ryan, Chris and the FootyForAll team.
